Shiny Nikki, known on Instagram and TikTok as @shiny.nikki, has emerged as a thoughtful and creative voice in the Pokémon collecting community since launching her account in the fall of 2023. What began as a way to support a small Pokémon subscription box business quickly evolved into something much bigger as her audience grew and meaningful connections formed. Even after the business itself ended, Nikki remained, drawn in by the friendships, shared passion, and sense of belonging she discovered within the Pokémon community.
A highly collaborative and imaginative creator, Nikki is known for producing themed content that brings collectors together. Her ongoing Wicked Wednesday series celebrates spooky-themed Pokémon and invites fellow creators to join in, while her popular under-$5 card series highlights affordable, overlooked cards across multiple sets. By showcasing budget-friendly options, Nikki reinforces that Pokémon collecting is not about spending power, but about curiosity, creativity, and love for the hobby.
Nikki’s roots in Pokémon run deep. She began collecting when Pokémon first debuted in the United States, making childhood trades and learning the game long before competitive play was mainstream. After stepping away for years, she returned to the hobby in 2022 through competitive TCG play, sparking a renewed passion for collecting. Her most treasured card, a Coro Coro Shiny Mew, represents both her love for the iconic Pokémon and the sentimental value of gifts within the community, a card she says she will never part with.
Outside of Pokémon, Nikki balances content creation with family life and a wide range of creative pursuits. A mother of two, she prioritizes time with her children while also embracing ambitious DIY home projects, from electrical work to flooring, all self-taught through online tutorials. She is also a dedicated plant enthusiast with nearly 100 plants in her home, and a karaoke lover who keeps microphones ready for spontaneous sing-alongs. Her two dogs, Bowser and Clover, add even more charm to her everyday life and often inspire smiles within her content.
At the heart of Nikki’s work is a belief in kindness, inclusivity, and community. She advocates for collectors to support one another, reject comparison, and embrace their own journeys. She also believes more women deserve recognition within the Pokémon space, calling attention to the many talented female creators who contribute meaningfully to the community.
